“… I understood what my mother was talking about. That's what it's like to be somebody else. And maybe when I'm forty-two, I'll miss this day sometimes.”
This is a family play about the love we're afraid to lose and the love we're waiting for – something that we all know and cherish forever.
In the story “The Gypsum,” the contemporary Dutch writer tackles difficult themes – themes that are not typically discussed with children in theater.
On Christmas Eve, the book “Happy Marriage, Happy Divorce” appears in the house. And on the holiday, the parents tell their children that they are getting a divorce.
We see the disaster through the eyes of 12-year-old Felicia, who prefers to be called Fitz. The accidents multiply with shocking details, and she rebels until she is confronted with the extreme stories of others. On this crazy day, a host of surprising events take place that, like a cast, keep the shards of her soul from shattering.
Teenagers, their parents, grandparents – everyone will experience horror, pain, indignation, pity, amazement, joy, and something strange, like falling in love with Fitz… And after the performance, people will reflect and talk. Live music and bright minimalism on stage create a special atmosphere, where the soul is both sick and light.

“Thank you to everyone involved in creating this masterpiece! The language used in this play is simple and clear, but it deals with difficult topics that are close to everyone – children and parents, love and separation, joy and pain. It is very sensitive, soulful, fun, dynamic, and talented! Thank you! This play should be seen all over the country. Really! My son (13 years old) was very impressed and wants to come back to the theater.”
